Pine Combe is an ICF (Insulated Concrete Formwork) new build house in North Somerset that replaced a 1960's bungalow. It sits in a beautiful half acre plot with stunning views across the Mendip hillside. Simon provided full design, project and construction management services.

One major challenge with this project was that the ridge height of the new build 2 storey house could not exceed that of the original bungalow.  The solution was to dig out 600m3 of the site and invert the design, with open plan living at the upper level to take full advantage of the south facing view. All of the quarried stone was utilised to face the building.
